Product & Usage
What is ElderMate?
ElderMate is a distributed family care task-closure system. It helps adult children monitor aging parents’ health vitals, set medication reminders, coordinate care tasks with siblings, and stay connected—without requiring parents to learn new technology.
How is ElderMate different from a simple SOS button or a chat group?
Unlike chat groups where info gets buried, ElderMate uses a deterministic task-closure logic. Every health alert creates a trackable task that stays “Pending” until a family member confirms action. It ensures care is actually delivered.
Can multiple siblings manage the same parent?
Yes! ElderMate is built for family collaboration. You can invite your siblings or professional caregivers to the same family group. Everyone sees the same real-time status, reducing redundant calls and caregiver burnout.
Do my parents need to learn how to use the app?
No. The parent app is designed with 0 learning curve: 60px+ ultra-large fonts, automatic voice playback, and an intentional horizontal swipe for emergency SOS.
Does it work if the elder has no smartphone?
For the full experience (voice reminders, SOS button), the elder needs a smartphone or tablet. If they wear an Apple Watch or WearOS device, children can monitor their health data via the synced cloud dashboard.
What health data can ElderMate track?
ElderMate automatically syncs data from Apple Health and Google Fit / Health Connect, including heart rate, blood pressure, blood glucose, blood oxygen, steps, and sleep.
Is the SOS slider a replacement for emergency services like 911/119?
No. ElderMate is a family mutual aid coordinator. Its primary goal is to immediately alert your family members and coordinate care. In a life-threatening situation, always contact official emergency services first.
Is ElderMate a medical device?
No. ElderMate is a wellness and family coordination software. It does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a licensed healthcare professional for medical concerns.

ElderMate for Android is officially available for download on the Google Play Store. The iOS version is currently completing Apple App Store review.
How do I invite family members to my care circle?
Once you create your account in the Caregiver Dashboard, tap 'Add Family Member' to generate a secure invite code or link to send via messaging apps or SMS.
How quickly does the background sync update?
Vitals are synchronized near real-time whenever new sensor data is written to Apple Health or Google Fit, with an automated 24-hour disconnect watchdog.
03 — Subscription & Pricing
Subscription & Pricing
What is the difference between Free and Premium?
Free: Basic manual data sync and 1 family member.

What subscription plans are available?
We offer flexible monthly and annual family subscriptions. One subscription covers the entire family circle with unlimited caregivers.
04 — Privacy & Security

What happens to my data if I cancel my account?
You retain 100% data ownership. You can export your full health logs in open formats at any time or permanently delete your account and associated records.

Hardware & Compatibility
Do I need to purchase proprietary hardware?
No. ElderMate works with the devices your family already owns by connecting to Apple Health and Google Fit (Apple Watch, Wear OS watches, Bluetooth blood pressure cuffs, etc.).
Does ElderMate support Android devices?
Yes. ElderMate is fully compatible with Android smartphones and tablets running Android 8.0 and above.
06 — Family Collaboration
Family Collaboration
Can multiple caregivers receive emergency SOS alerts simultaneously?
Yes. When an elder slides the SOS slider, all linked family members and caregivers receive high-priority push alerts simultaneously.
How does task assignment work between siblings?
Any caregiver in the group can claim or assign specific care tasks (such as medication refills or doctor appointments). Completed tasks are timestamped and logged for the whole family to see.
